Through the workshop "Word, image, sound" led by the host Diana Sindik Moka, we are experimenting with the idea of transforming words, emotions, experiences into art form and sound. Warm and cold, high and low tones, sharp and gentle, dark and light, are the elements with which we transform the poetics of words into the poetics of image and music. The music imitates a certain sound, feeling, experience from the song, the free flight of the albatross, the death cry, demonic beings, eternal damnation. The starting point for art installations will be "Glass forms" by Marija Šormaz made of recycled material and "Shapes" by Jasna Dramićanin made of ecological clay.
We plan to cooperate and socialize with numerous artists, cultural workers, activists and environmental associations in the country. A workshop is planned - a lecture on ecology and sustainable development, where Filip Milinković will talk about his experiences in "Walking by the Earth", an environmental initiative he undertook together with his wife Marija Babić.
The entire project will be covered on internet platforms as well as in the media, in magazines, on radio and television.
Significance of the topic: We see the significance of this project topic in several directions. First, the inevitable environmental issue that affects the whole world, and is most neglected in underdeveloped countries, including the Balkan countries. Secondly, issues of culture and art, the need for play and creation, which is increasingly losing its primacy in the fast era of the modern age, where pleasure is sought in fast and easy entertainment, and third, connecting with countries in the region and restoring weakened and broken ties.
The past year has shaken the whole world with unexpected events and for who knows how many times it has instructed people to reconsider their priorities. In a way, it was as if she had put a stop sign to that relentless pace of today and said caution, slow down. Consumerism, fast and stressful life, the pursuit of profit, all fall into the shadows before the relentless power of this planet, which created us. And how painful should this admonition be and how many human lives should it take to direct the lines of thought primarily taking into account this topic?
The environmental issue is one of many important issues and problems in Serbia and Montenegro, as well as other Balkan countries, which is treated as completely unimportant. The state of the environment is worrying. There are no laws that in any way prevent individuals, factories and companies from polluting. Filters are not used in factories, all waste is thrown untreated into the river, phosphate fertilizers are used which pollute the soil and thus directly the food consumed by the population, which is their only choice, given the high prices of organic products; the factories have old equipment that still uses poisonous transformer oil (pyralene); vehicles use eco gasoline poorly and rarely have catalysts that prevent the emission of harmful gases from the exhaust, there is no waste selection, garbage dumps are made near rivers, streams and in protected natural environments, the population has no culture not to throw garbage and there are penalties. Since it is not a profitable business, the question of ecology turns its head and clogs its ears. This situation has led to Belgrade being on the list of the most polluted cities in the world, despite having only two million inhabitants. And no one is responding to the appeals of some experts in the field of health, engineering and technology about the danger to human health, the increased number of deaths, and the possible solutions to the offered problems.
In such a situation, we decided to influence the consciousness of people in the countries of the region through an art project and raise an issue that is being pushed under the rug. Should a difficult economic situation be an excuse to ignore a topic without which "there is no life"?
Kroz radionicu „ Reč, slika, zvuk“ koju vodi domaćin Dijana Sindik Moka eksperimentišemo sa idejom transformisanja reči, emocije, doživljaja u likovni oblik i zvuk. Topli i hladni, visoki i niski ton, odsečno i nežno, tamno i svetlo, elementi su kojima pretačemo poetiku reči u poetiku slike i muzike.
